Models' View of PGRC

Prince George's Radio Control Club (PGRC), since its establishment in 1964 as an AMA-chartered club, has promoted the enjoyment of building and flying radio controlled model aircraft. Comprised of approximately 200 families from Bowie, Maryland and surrounding areas, the Club is renowned for accommodating new-comers in the hobby. We have an active RC pilot training program, and encourage spectators to visit us at our flying field. PGRC has no membership cap.

PGRC frequently hosts local school outings with aviation demonstrations and RC flying opportunities. Here a group of elementary school students and their teacher pose with the trainer they successfully flew.

Location

PGRC's Swanson Rd. Flying Site is one of the finest in the state, with a 40 X 400' paved runway and 100 X 800' grass strip, ample pit and unobstructed flying areas, and plenty of room for picnics and parking. Spectators are welcome, as are sponsored guest flyers with AMA cards.

In addition to its large contingent of sport flyers and a growing body of giant-scale enthusiasts, PGRC has become nationally recognized for its pylon racing program. The Club has had a full schedule of racing events during the past several years, and has hosted both Regional and National championship races. Catch RC pylon racing at its best with PGRC's 2007 Racing Program.
